Go Rams!

Here is our first family picture in our Rams gear. We went to the PRHS football & volley ball scrimmages on Friday night. I think Cael's going to be a football fan! Oh! And his wrestling singlet came in this week.....sooooo cute! I'll post pictures of him in it after we get the Rams emblem on it.

Izzy & Cael....Could This Be Hattie's Competition?!?!

Last weekend our friend David and his daught Izzy came for a visit. Izzy will be 1 year in October. She wasn't quite sure what to think of Cael but he was pretty stand offish too. I think he was afraid he would upset his girl Hattie!

It's Been a While....

Where to begin....it's been a long time since I last updated. We have been super busy with school starting. Talking Cael to day care has gotten easier. I don't cry when I leave him anymore and Courtney's even taken him a few times! Right now the back gate to get on post is closed so when I take him I have to backtrack to get on post. That also means everyone else is backtracking to get on post which means I sit in line for anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes! It's such a pain!

A week ago Cael had a rough few days. He was screaming and fussing and then he starting throwing up. This was all due to the fact that he hadn't pooped in a week. I took him into the pediatrician and they probed the little guy (yes in his bottom!) 5 times and....NOTHING! Not even anything on the stick! So they said he would poop that night. Well - I was tired of listening to the screaming and it was killing me that he was in pain. We got desparate so we took him to a chiropractor! Yep, you heard me, a chiropractor. Our little guy got adjusted and pooped that night! Then he pooped the next day! It's amazing how excited you get about poop when you have a baby! He's been adjusted 3 times now and has pooped after every time. I know it sounds a little crazy but when they explain why it works it makes perfect sense. Everything in your body is connected to your brain through nerves. These nerves run through your spine. When your back is out of place the nerves get pinched so they cannot work to their full capacity. When you get your back adjusted the nerves get unpinched (is that a word?) and can then work completely. Makes sense to me! He seems to be doing really well after his adjustments and as long as it works I'll keep taking him. All 3 of us got adjusted yesterday because they were doing free adjustments as long as you brought in some non-perisable food items. I've been fighting a cold for a week now so that seems better after my adjustment.

Last weekend Mom & Dad came to the house to watch wee man so Courtney and I could go to a T-Bones game. This had been planned since May - even before Cael was born! I was so excited! Well, I got home from school and my cold was driving me nuts. I ended up having a fever so I couldn't go. Courtney went ahead and left and Mom & Dad came over. It was a good thing because I wasn't in very good shape to be taking care of Cael by myself. He had a terrible night of sleeping that night - up every 2 hours!! But since then he has consistently slept anywhere from 5 to 7 hours every night. The trick?! Belly sleep!!! He sleeps so good on his belly! I know they say you shouldn't but if he'll sleep I'll do it!

What else has been going on? We went to Famous Dave's and Cabela's today with the Noon family. They came up to take us out for Courtney's birthday. Yep - my husband turned the big 3-0 on the 19th. He wasn't too thrilled! He especially wasn't thrilled because his birthday was also his first day of school with kids. Mommy & Cael got Daddy a new camera for his birthday. School is going pretty good for both of us so far. I think it should be a pretty good year. How could it be bad when we get to come home to our beautiful baby boy?!

Bed time!

I have such a pretty smile!!

I'm a big boy now when it comes to bath time!

I like hats and sunglasses....just like my Daddy!

At Famous Dave's with Aunt Nicole and my cousin, Alta Joy. Alta wasn't too sure about me when her Mom or Grammy were holding me but if I was in my car seat I was okay.

At Cabelas with my family....I was worn out!

I can't believe I drank the whole thing!

I'm ready for 2 things: hunting deer and kayaking in Puerto Rico.

2 Months...

I know you've all been anxiously awaiting Cael's 2 month picture on the bear skin rug, right?! He's getting so big! He had his first day of day care yesterday. I cried before I even left the house! Then I cried when I took him out of the car seat and when I handed him over. Oh my! Today wasn't as bad, I only cried on the way over there but got it together before I went in. We really like Tracy and he seems very happy when he comes home. He even pooped yesterday at her house!! I know, I know, who cares about poop, right?! HELLO!!! It had been 7 DAYS....7 DAYS!!!!! That's 1 week!!! Okay, I'm done now. He pooped and all was right with the world. Here are some of his 2 month pictures. I also took some pictures today because I want to remember how small he is right now. I don't ever want to forget this tiny person that has changed our world.

True Love Is.....

stealing a multi-color rose from your wife's favorite Mexican restaurant because she said she thought it was pretty.

Hello Cool Aunt Joy!!!

I figured I'd better post because my sister is dying to see pictures of her Cool nephew. It has been a crazy last week with me starting work on Monday. So we'll backtrack to last week....

Last Friday the 3 of us (boy that seems strange to write!) drove over by Sabetha to the Sack & Fox Casino for dinner with Hoshi and his parents. We hadn't seen him in almost a year so it was nice to catch up with him. He brought his girlfriend down from Minnesota so we go to meet her and tell her horror stories about him.... Okay so we weren't that mean!

Saturday was pretty boring and we really didn't do much of anything. Sunday we met Mom & Dad & Bill (or as I like to call him, Billiam) for dinner. It's been a LONG time since we saw him so it was fun. He texted Joyous while we were at dinner. We tried to get a rise out of her by saying I was telling all sorts of stories but she knew better. Damn! We also got him to hold Cael (a.k.a. Bob) while we looked like crazy people in the middle of a restaurant taking pictures. I'm sure that made Billiam feel REAL comfortable! Nothing like sitting in a semi crowded place having your picture taken by 2 different people at one time. And no we couldn't take just 1 we had to take 3 or 4. We of course had to get one of him, Bob & alcohol which is now our tradition with Bob's Cool Aunt Joy. In case you haven't figured it out yet, our son has MANY names: Cael, CaelRyan, fussy nuts, Bob, Soup, Mister, Stinker, and the list goes on.

Monday was the rough day for me. The first time of leaving my baby for the WHOLE DAY. Yes he was with his Daddy but that did not help me at all! I cried when I left and had to hold it in on the way to work. Luckily we were busy with all sorts of stuff so I was able to keep my mind off of not being with him. What a strange feeling it is to leave your baby. You feel like you aren't whole. Like you are missing your arm, leg (insert your appendage of choice here), whatever. On the drive home I was literally aching to hold him. I can't imagine what this Monday will be like when I leave him at day care for the first time. I'm sure I will be a mess... thank God the kids don't come until Tuesday!! Needless to say my husband did an amazing job of watching wee man this week. I am very proud of both of them. They showed me they can survive without me...

Tuesday saw Cael meeting his Great Great Aunt Nila and some of my teacher friends. Courtney brought him up to my school in the morning and then to Pleasant Ridge to meet his people. That afternoon my Great Aunt Nila flew in from New Orleans. She was on her way to Salina to meet up with Grandma & Aunt Kim. She had a terribly long lay over so Mom picked her up from the airport and just decided to drive her to Topeka to meet them. On their way to Topeka they stopped in here to meet Cael. It was a VERY fast meeting as we were on our way to the Dr. office for shots. Yes people - SHOTS!! Ouch!! I have never seen someone turn that shade of purple in my life!! He didn't scream until afterwards. After he turned purple. He fell asleep right away after shots and then came the fussiness. He was pretty fussy the rest of the evening until bathtime at about 8:30. We put him down around 10:00 and he slept until 4:00!!! That was a good night!

Wednesday and Thursday weren't anything too exciting. Cael spent a good part of Thursday with Amanda, Nicolas & Anna so Courtney could take care of some stuff. Then today he was home with Daddy all day. Jared (Tio Hughes) stopped by tonight and we had dinner. Now he & Courtney are outside, Cael is asleep and I am downstairs all by my lonesome. Tomorrow Courtney's going to go to a Royals game with Jim, Gipper & Jared to have HIS "spa day" as he called it. As you might recall he sent Joy & me to the spa for a day in July and he has been complaining that he hasn't gotten to do anything. So baby boy and I are going to go to Mom & Dad's for the evening. Hope everyone had a good week! Check back next week for Cael's 2 month picture... I can't believe he's been here for 2 months!!
